Finally have the time to update you all on the last few weeks!
As I said in my last journal I was able to go on a trip with my course to South Africa! It was an absolutely amazing 2 weeks and we saw so much! We managed to see almost all of the "big 5" (not including the Leopard because they're really difficult to see! We did see a leopard kill spot though so we were close!) and we managed to visit lots of different reserves to see the impacts of different reserve managment methods.
The worst thing about the trip was the insects. The spiders were HUGE and when combined with outdoor showers and toilets, things got a bit...interesting! However I'm not scared of UK insects anymore!
I was lucky enough to borrow my Dad's SLR-bridge camera for the trip and so I've uploaded a couple of my pictures
I am now back at uni and today was the deadline for all our write-up work for Africa (which explains my absence from DA over the last few weeks) but I will now be able to get back to working on my art trades and own projects!
On a sadder note, I feel like I should say it because I'm still struggling to come to terms with it but, a couple of weeks ago my dog Marmite had to be put down
I was at home barely days before but I was back at uni by the time my Dad rang to let me know. I haven't been home since so I know it will be difficult when I go back but I will deal with that hurdle when I come to it.
He was the best dog in the world and will be sorely missed
